  • 2014 - The OEW Founder was invited to be a U.S. Speaker on the issue of Human Trafficking from the U.S. Dept. of State International Information Programs.

  • 2013 - Voted Best Nonprofit of 2013 by My Carolina Town Magazine.

  • 2012 - The OEW Founder was presented the Good Samaritan Award by the Trafficking in America Task Force.

  • 2012 - The OEW Founder was invited to serve on Shared Hope International's/EPCAT USA National Colloquium: A gathering of experts and practitioners of restorative shelter and services across the nation to inventory and discuss the varying responses to sex trafficking victims to identify more and better options.

  • 2012 - The OEW Founder was awarded FBI's Director Community Leadership Award.

  • 2012 - The OEW Founder was accepted to join the NC Human Trafficking Commission through the Governor's office.

  • 2010 - The OEW Founder was invited to speak at a Congressional Briefing on the topic of shelter work for domestic victims of sex trafficking.

  • 2009 - The OEW Hope House staff was recognized by the Western NC Crime Victims Coalition for providing outstanding services to victims of crime.
